Welcome to Year 6!

Our Class Teachers are Mr Dudley, Ms Pilkington and Mr Walters.

This week has been filled with project based investigations, science tasks and some fantastic sporting activities.

In History, we have investigated the disappearance of the Ancient Maya civilisation, by analysing FBI exhibits. The children have determined that their disappearance was due to one of the following: disease, starvation, alien intervention or war. Here are a few examples:   

For Black history month we have celebrated the life of Nelson Mandela.

We have explored his life as we have read his book, ‘Long road to freedom’. Based on the knowledge that we have gained, we created a diary entry about Nelson Mandela’s time in prison and the ambitious he had once he was released. Year 6 also produced a portrait of Nelson Mandela, as we drew a piece of abstract art to support our diary entries.
