Summer Term

Mud kitchen fun.

We have loved playing in the mud kitchen during this summer term. One of our favourite activities have been making citrus soup, we loved smelling the limes and lemons and squeezing them to make juice.

Pirate Day

We have had great fun learning about Pirates and celebrated by having a fun filled Prate Day. After climbing the rigging, eating sea biscuits and singing pirate songs we finished with a treasure hunt .

Animal experience

We were very excited to see all the amazing animals that came into Nursery and Time for Twos. We saw a cockroach, gecko, baby owl, honey bear , tortoise, corn snake and 2 beautiful 8 week old Chinese foxes called Ying and Yang . We all got to hold and touch the animals.

Easter fun

Nursery and Time for Twos have had lots of fun celebrating Easter. We have listened to lots of Easter songs and learnt new rhymes. We have enjoyed learning about new life all around us. We enjoyed our Easter Egg hunt, making and eating Easter crispy cakes and making Easter crowns.

Spring term 2023

We have welcomed lots of new children into our setting in January, we have been learning how to play and learn together, follow new routines and explore our new environment.

Our first theme has been Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have enjoyed listening and joining in with the story and singing "when Goldilocks went to the house of the bears".

We have made and tasted porridge, painted and drawn bears, acted out the story in the home corner and using small world play, made bears in the playdough and explored oats in the tuff tray . We have explored measure when playing with different sized bears, bowls, beds and chairs.

In phonics our older children have begun to learn the picture names of the letter sounds following our Read Write Inc scheme. We have begun practicing our big body movements in preparation for writing following our Kinetic letters handwriting scheme.

Chinese New Year

We have enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year, we discovered that it is the year of the rabbit. We have enjoyed painting, mark making, playing in the mud kitchen, listening and dancing to Chinese ribbon music.

Autumn Term 2022

Our first weeks.

We are so proud of the way the children have settled into Time for Twos and Nursery and have quickly become confident and active learners, playing and exploring and enjoying their achievements. We have investigated and experienced our new environment and made new friends.

We began the term by finding out more about each other through our “Ourselves” theme.

We have talked about our families and pets, learning the names of parts of our body and how to keep healthy.

We have been exploring sorting colour. We made colour fruit biscuits and sorted into colours that were the same . We used our reasoning skills to identify and talk about colours that were not red.

Celebrating Bonfire Night and Diwali

We sat around the fire and toasted marshmallows, we made fruit rockets and firework pictures.

We celebrated Diwali by making diva lamps, mehndi handprints, Diwali cards and Rangoon patterns.

We have been celebrating Birthdays in Nursery and Twos .

We have had great fun making sandwiches, party hats, invitations and writing shopping lists. We had party with a Birthday cake, and Zachary and Phoenix had a present.
