WALT: develop sentences using key features of a persuasive letter.

Today's lesson focuses on building sentences using your argument from yesterday's lesson. This will build the main body of your letter - the reasons. 

 

Include:  

• Sentence openers (use the word mat) 

• Evaluative language - incredible/outstanding/awful/revolting 

• Modal adverbs (use the word mat) 

• Facts  (From your for/against argument)

 

Here's my example:

 

Firstly, I want to draw your attention to the devastating waste we produce in the UK. Figures show that we dispose of 68 million tonnes of waste every year. This is certainly something we must change.

• What does Paul do? - The man who does our assemblies and uses the puppets (He’s part of the Amblecote Christian Centre.)
