We're Graduating!

Things have had to be a little different this year but we didn't want you to miss out on those special moments. We hope you enjoy this special keepsake - we've loved watching all the children in Reception grow. We will miss you all and know you will be exceptional as you move into Year 1.

In Reception we have been learning about Australia. We looked on a map to find out where it was, we found key landmarks, found out about the  animals that live there and Australian culture. We recreated our own Aboriginal art work and and made a camp fire and pretended we were in the outback. We learnt an Australian song and practised our dance moves. We ended the week by writing  postcards about Australia.

We leant to play Volleyball and work as a team!

We looked at aboriginal art and artefacts. Then we created our own artwork using similar patterns and taking care to use dots.

Our campfire in the outback! We had fun singing songs and toasting marshmallows

We learnt to dance like a Kookaburra and then took our moves to the stage!

Summer 2

This term we are going to explore Space! We began our topic by finding out what we already knew and then we launched off  into space! Next we explored astronauts and were amazed to see how they eat their lunch in space and move around in zero gravity!

We have some very creative children in Reception.

We have been working hard to improve our writing by using our phonics and neatest handwriting. This is some of our lovely writing about being an astronaut and flying to the moon.

In the Spring term we planted some radishes in our new allotment area. Today we picked our crop and were amazed to see how they had grown!

After picking and washing our radishes it was time to eat them. We  all tried them but some of us weren’t too keen on the taste!

Our morning routine.

Every morning we practise writing our tricky words or writing our numbers as soon as we come in before we to do the register.

Summer Term 1
