Over the last few weeks, Year One have been extremely busy!
In English, we have been reading The Gruffalo, by Julia Donaldson. Our writing purpose is to be able to write the opening of The Gruffalo so that we can read our stories to Reception. Take a look at our learning journey...
Here is a sneaky peak of the writing that the children have been busy writing. (It is amazing - keep hold of your socks so they don't get blown away!)
In Maths, we have been adding using objects.
We have used two different ways to use objects to support us. Take a look!
One way:
We have started at the largest number and counted on, using the objects to help us.
The other way:
We collected objects to match both amounts in the calculation and then counted them altogether.
Multiplication, counting in 2s, 5s and 10s!
