Welcome to year 3!!

Maths!
In maths we have been looking at place value. We used counters to help us identify the place value of numbers up to 1,000.
PE!
In PE, our first topic was dance. We had to create dance based on the theme of bonfire night. We had to make sure or dances lasted 8 beats. We danced to the song firework by Katy Perry. We really enjoyed working in groups to create our routines.
Harvest festival!
To celebrate the harvest festival, we sang a song in assembly called 'autumn says hello'. As a class, we love to perform songs and really enjoy music.

HALLOWEEN!
In year 3, we dressed up as some amazing characters and we all looked amazing. We all had a great time at the halloween disco and had a good ol' boogie.
SPANISH!
This year we have started learning Spanish! As a class, it is our favourite lesson. We learned greetings this term. Have a listen to some of the words we have learned and our conversations.

WORLD CUP DAY!
To celebrate the start of the world cup, we spent the day doing activities based around group G. In maths, we planned a holiday to Brazil and worked out the costs using column method. In honour of Switzerland, we created our own chocolate bars. We even played some football matches in our houses.
CHRISTMAS!!
For Christmas, we had a Christmas party and we saw Santa! He even gave us a present!!
VALENTINE'S DAY!
For valentine's day, we had a disco. We danced and partied and had cookies and sweets. Some of us even had roses..

Our trip to Tanglewoods.
For our first trip of the year, we spent the day living in the stone age! We made huts, took part in archery, started mini fires and sat around a campfire enjoying toasted marshmellows... yum!!
DT.
In DT this year, we have made buntings, kites and Egyptian backgrounds on calico. We have really enjoyed being creative and making new things.
The King's coronation!
On the 16th May, we were lucky enough to celebrate the King's coronation. We had our food outside, music was blasting and we had a lovely afternoon doing coronation activites.
National numeracy day!
On the 17th May, we had national numeracy day! We got to dress up in clothes that had numbers on or represented a job that involved numbers! As a class, we love maths so really enjoyed a morning dedicated to maths.
Trip to ThinkTank!
We had a lovely day at the ThinkTank in Birmingham. It was a very interactive day with us able to play and touch things. We did find the water filter the most exciting element...
