Late Procedures

The school gate is open from 8:35 and pupils should enter their classroom via the playground. The gate remains open until 8:45am, after this time access is granted via the intercom entry system on the main gate which is manned by the school office staff. After this time, pupils will be recorded on the school register as ‘L' (late before register closes). If they arrive after 9:00am, they will be recorded as 'U' (late after register closes) which counts as an unauthorised absence.

Please ensure your child arrives on time, even ten minutes late per day can result in 50 minutes of education lost in a week.  It is also very disruptive for the class when lessons have already started.

Absence Procedures

Please call the school office by 9:30am at the latest, to inform us why your child is absent. This should be done by calling (01384) 816930 option 1. If the call doesn’t get answered, then please leave a message and we will add the information provided to the school register.

If we have not heard from you by such time, the following procedure is in place:

• We will make a phone call to parents/ carers on the phone numbers provided on the emergency contact information form.
• We will send a text message to contact number 1 on the list.
