History

In History, we are learning all about toys from the past. We have been comparing the materials that old toys are made from with present day toys. We didn't think that the old toys sounded as much fun without any use of electricity or plastic. But WOW did we have a lot of fun playing with some Victorian day toys.

Halloween

We loved celebrating Halloween and coming to school in our fancy dress costumes. We had lots of fun in our disco!

Maths

We can use cubes to answer a number sentence. We can use the same cubes to write a fact family.

Flora and fauna

To kickstart our topic, the children have been getting to know our key Artist. We have learnt lots about Eric Carle. The children used their sketchbooks to cut and collage artwork by Eric Carle and had a go at drawing similar art. The pieces the children have created are beautiful and they should be very proud.

Maths

During our place value topic, the children have been practicing their careful counting of numbers to 10. We have learnt to spell all of your numbers in words and the children use our working wall well during lessons to identify numbers to write.

Today, We have been practicing finding one more and one less than a given number using a game. We have played a game where the children roll a dice and identify one more or less than the number that they land on. We loved playing this game in class and everyone had fun.

We're Going on a Bear Hunt!

Today we had our very own class bear hunt! We had to follow the clues left behind to track our story book. We found it in the Forest School being looked after by two big furry ears, two big goggly eyes and one wet shiny nose! We've had a very exciting first day!
