WALT: identify features of a set of instructions using a WAGOLL.

 

Use the WAGOLL to identify these features in the instructions. 

 

  • Imperative verbs ('bossy verbs' which tell you to do an action for example - put, stop, pull, spread, take, sit)

  • Fronted adverbials (for example - first, next, then, after that, finally)

  • Heading/subheadings  

  • List of what is needed 

  • Use of bullet points or numbers to separate steps.  

  • Use adverbs, conjunctions and prepositions to show time.

Questions to think about when making your predictions:

  • How would you support that prediction?
  • On what evidence did you base your prediction?
  • What makes you say that?
  • What were your clues?
