Our first few days in Reception...

We are so proud of the Reception children and the way they have  settled quickly into their new class .

They have been finding out and exploring their new environment , showing curiosity whilst playing and exploring.

The day the Owl Babies came to visit Reception.

We walked into the classroom and were amazed to see it was as dark as night. Three baby owls had flown in. Their names were Sarah, Percy and Bill and they had lost their Mummy.

Owl Babies.

Did you know owls are nocturnal and they fly silently and swiftly through the trees? They love to eat bugs and insects when they go hunting at night.

We have listened to the story, explored it through drama, writing ,  painting, placing and arranging  and drawing.

Fun in Forest school

Autumn time.

We have enjoyed reading lots of Autumn stories and exploring the changes around us. We made delicious vegetable harvest soup and went on an Autumn walk using our senses to look, listen, smell and touch.

 Room on the Broom

Reception had great fun exploring the story "Room on the Broom" by Julia Donaldson.

We carved a pumpkin, made witches, acted out the story, made broomsticks  and potions and then had a Halloween disco. Didn't we all look amazing!
