Welcome to Our Class Blog

In our team we have Miss Arnold, Mrs Beard and Miss O’Connor.

Please do not hesitate to speak to us with any concerns either on the door at pick up or drop off times or we can arrange a more suitable time that suits.

Key dates, days and information.

  • Thursday’s are our PE days. We encourage you to send your children in wearing their PE kit, especially for the Autumn Term.
  • Children will be set up with an Oxford Owl log in where you will have access to their home reading books. These will be set weekly for the children to read with you.
  • The children also have their speed sounds book so the children can practice their speed sounds (reading with speed.) This will be dated so you know what sounds they know.
  • A parent’s phonics workshop to support you in helping your child at home with their phonics will be held during the Autumn term. Date to be confirmed.

We have practiced forming the letters we have learnt in phonics.

Our Autumn Hunt 🍂

On our Autumn walk, we discussed the changes that we could see such as leaves falling off the trees, ‘nuts’ had fallen off the tree and there were some leaves changing colour.

The children gathered leaves, sticks, feathers and nuts to use in our classroom.

We used the leaves we collected on our Autumn Walk for leaf painting.

The children chose their leaf and decided on the patterns and colours they wanted to use to decorate their leaves.
