Time for Twos

Welcome to Time for Twos’ Blog Page

Our Class Teacher: Miss C Southall

Key Workers: Miss Bradbury and Miss Harris

Welcome back!

We have settled back into time for twos really well, we have welcomed some new faces both peers and staff!

We have enjoyed making new friendships and catching up with our old friends too.

Ourselves

This half term our topic has been ourselves. We have enjoyed painting ourselves, building our houses and talking about our friends and family.

We looked through mirrors at ourselves, then painted what we could see. We talked about what was on our face, what colour eyes we have and what colour hair we have.

We have also used varies materials to build our homes and talk about who lives in our house.

Making friendships.

We have enjoyed welcoming our new friends and exploring all our toys together.

We have settled our new friends into our routines, shared experiences with our key workers and built some really good bonds.

Outdoor play.

We have enjoyed exploring our outdoor area and playing with all our toys.

We have enjoyed playing on the bikes, climbing on our equipment and sharing different experiences with our friends, creating our own play.

Halloween Celebrations.

We celebrated Halloween by taking part in varies activities. We explored the pumpkins by carving them with our adults, we explored the gloop by covering creepy crawlies and using the tweezers to get them out and we designed our own mummies by covering them with masking tape. We even dressed up and had our own Halloween party.

Remembrance day!

To remember our soldiers we watched a short poppy appeal video clip and talked about why we wear poppies. We then created our own poppies using a variety of materials.

Children in need!

We helped raise money for children in need by coming into school in our own clothes and bringing in a donation. We also took part in various activities together. We created a large Pudsey bear using collage materials, designed our own Pudsey bear costumes and colouring Pudsey bear masks.

Christmas count down!

This week we got into the Christmas spirit. When we came into nursery on Monday morning Santa's little helpers had changed our home corner into an elf work shop, they had even left behind some of their costumes so we could dress up too. They had also, decorated our classroom and left behind a Christmas tree and tree decorations too.

We then all helped decorate the Christmas tree together and dressed up so we could also be Santa's little helpers.

This week we have also taken part in a number of adult led activities, we played a game of 'Who stole Santa's bells?' and we also explored a variety of Christmas themed objects and talked about what we could see, hear, feel and smell. We have taken it in turns and waited for our go!
