Maths

For Maths this week please click on the link below to White Rose Maths home learning. I would like you to continue onto w/c 27th April - angles in shapes and problem solving. First of all watch the video clip for each day, followed up with the the daily activity for 30 minutes each day. If you can't print out the work sheet please verbally complete each question or write them on some paper/books you may have.

Problem Solving

Also this week I would like you to watch the daily Maths lessons taught by Gareth Metcalfe. I went to a training session before School closed and his work is what we began to cover in our morning starter sessions and starting activities to the lessons. Please work your way through beginning on the lesson 4th April.

Active Maths  Try some of these Active Maths lessons at home! Start with unit: Year 6 2. Addition.

English

These week I want you to look at the job application for a Big Cat Zoo Keeper, identify the strengths of the written application. Then we are focusing on the subjunctive form, followed by a writing task where you will be producing your own application for a particular job using the subjunctive form.

For your reading task this week, please read the UFO text and complete all the questions provided.

History

Following on from your Mayan timelines, we are now going to research some of the most famous Mayan Cities and Temples. Read through the attached powerpoint, then I would like you to produce an advertising poster for the travel industry, attracting people to come and visit your favourite Mayan city. Think back to the persuasive writing task with the Harry Potter letters you completed a couple of weeks ago. What sort of persuasive language could you use?

For fun

With it being well into Springtime now and that we have been on lock down for seven weeks, I have notice that nature is thriving. Here is a worksheet that you can read through and choose as many of the activities that you wish to complete that are on there.
